How can we help?
Answers to the most common questions about controls, purchases and your saved progress on iPhone, iPad and Android. Can't find what you need? Write to us below and a real person will reply.
Controls & getting started
How do I steer the sphere?
Hold your device in landscape, either way up. Tilt the top of the device away from you to roll forward, tilt it back toward you to brake, and tilt left or right to steer. Small tilts are enough. Level 1 teaches each move with short on-screen tips.
The sphere creeps, drifts or steering feels wrong
Open Settings › Controls and try these, in order:
- Set neutral position while holding the device the way you play. Do this again whenever you change how you sit.
- Run the Guided setup: three short steps for your neutral position, then which way is right and forward.
- Pick a Preset: Precision (calm and exact), Balanced (recommended) or Responsive (quick and direct).
- If the sphere creeps while you hold still, raise the Dead zone. If steering feels mirrored, use Invert left–right or Invert forward–back.
Test controls opens a safe arena with no score and no penalty, so you can try every change.
Tilt steering doesn't work at all
iOSThe game receives motion data automatically, without a permission prompt. If it ever shows Motion access is off, restart the game; if the message stays, switch to touch steering and tell us your device and iOS version.
AndroidSome devices have no motion sensors. In that case the game says This device does not report motion and touch steering is ready to use.
Can I play without tilting the device?
Yes. Go to Settings › Controls › Steering method and choose Touch for an on-screen stick (also available under Settings › Accessibility). Handedness moves the stick and the pause button to the side you prefer. The physics is identical with either method.
Do I need an internet connection to play?
No. The game plays fully offline. A connection is only needed when you buy or restore the full game through the App Store or Google Play.
How do I change the language?
Open Settings › Language. The game is available in 20 languages. System default follows your device language. Menus, level names and tips change at once; the store listing and system dialogs follow your device language.
Purchases
What is free, and what does the purchase include?
The download is free and includes levels 1–4, which are yours to keep. A single in-app purchase, Full Game Unlock, unlocks levels 5–20, the finale and a secret level (it opens once you finish level 20 with at least 40 gravity shards). There are no ads, no timers, no subscriptions and nothing else to buy.
The purchase costs US$6.99 in the United States. In other countries the store shows the local price in your currency, which may differ and may include local taxes. You always see the exact price in the store's own payment sheet before you confirm.
How do I restore my purchase on a new or reset device?
Usually you don't need to do anything: when the game starts with an internet connection, it asks the store which purchases your account owns and unlocks levels 5–20 by itself, with a Full game unlocked message.
To restore by hand, tap Restore purchase on the unlock screen or in Settings › Account.
iOSMake sure you're signed in to the App Store with the same Apple Account you used to buy. The App Store may ask for your password.
AndroidMake sure the Play Store is signed in to the same Google account you used to buy.
If you're offline, the unlock is restored automatically as soon as you're back online.
I bought it on iPhone. Is it unlocked on Android too (or the other way round)?
No. Purchases belong to the store where they were made: an App Store purchase can't be used on Google Play, and a Google Play purchase can't be used on the App Store.
Within the same store, the purchase works on all your devices: on any iPhone or iPad signed in to the same Apple Account, or on any Android phone or tablet using the same Google account.
There is no online sync. Your progress, records and settings stay on the device; they move to a new device only through your own backup (iCloud, or Google backup and device-to-device transfer on Android), within the same platform.
It says my purchase is "waiting for approval"
The store hasn't completed the payment yet. This happens with Ask to Buy on the App Store (a parent or guardian must approve) and with slower payment methods on Google Play. You don't need to buy again: the levels open by themselves as soon as the purchase completes, even while you play.
"Purchases unavailable", "Not on sale right now" or "Price unavailable"
- Purchases unavailable: in-app purchases are not supported on this device, for example an Android device without the Google Play Store.
- An error when you tap Unlock: purchases may be restricted, for example by Screen Time on iPhone or iPad, or by purchase authentication in Google Play's parental controls. Check those settings or ask the account owner.
- Not on sale right now: the store isn't offering the purchase in your country or region at the moment. Please try again later.
- Price unavailable right now: the store couldn't be reached. Check your connection and tap Reload price.
How do I ask for a refund?
Payments are processed by Apple and Google, so refunds are handled by them under their own policies. We can't see or refund store payments ourselves.
iOSRequest a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
AndroidFollow Google Play's refund instructions. For recent purchases you can usually request a refund directly in Google Play.
After a refund, the full game is locked again on that store account. Levels 1–4 and your progress stay on your device.
Progress & your data
Where is my progress saved? Can I lose it?
Your progress, records, ghost runs, settings and your unlocked full game are saved on your device only. If you use your device's own backup (iCloud on iPhone and iPad, Google backup on Android), they're included in it.
Deleting the game deletes them. On Android, Clear data for the app also erases them. Your purchase is never lost: it is restored automatically from the store.
How do I delete my data?
Everything the game saves is on your device, and nothing is stored on our servers. To delete it:
- iOSDelete the app from your iPhone or iPad. If you use iCloud Backup, older backups may still contain it until they're replaced or deleted in your iCloud settings.
- AndroidUninstall the app, or open Settings › Apps › Gravion Orbital Drift › Storage › Clear data.
If you've written to us, you can ask us to delete your messages using the form below. See the Privacy Policy for details.
Are there online leaderboards?
Online leaderboards are switched off in this version of the game, so nothing you do leaves your device. Your best times, ranks and scores are still recorded on your device, and you can race the ghost of your best run on every level.
Performance
My device gets warm or the battery drains quickly
3D games use more power than most apps. In Settings › Graphics:
- Keep Quality on Auto: it picks the right detail for your device and quietly lowers it if the device gets warm.
- Turn on Battery Saver: it caps the game at 30 frames per second and uses lighter detail.
- If you raised Frame rate above 60 (possible on some Android displays), lower it again.
Which version of the game do I have?
Open Settings › About: it shows the version number. The current version is 1.1.0. Please include it when you report a problem.
